28-9-2004 – Pappa

June 17, 2008

This morning pappa got up at 4am and wanted to play. She called me (eh…eh) and then hid her face in the pillow. If I turn and see her, she is laughing!! Hubby and myself were sooo sleepy and so I tried to make her sleep, but she started crying everytime I patted her….finally managed to make her sleep by 5.30am and then I had to get up to get ready to come to office… :( Pappa then slept for more than 2 hrs….

The little drama

June 6, 2008

A whimpering sound got me up and I saw thambi slowly moving about in hunger. He was still asleep. I had put him on our bed last night as he was a bit cold in his and sleeping fitfully (what the heck, I just wanted a reason to have him close :) ). I fed him and put him back. It was time to get up as I had to be in office early.  Having piled pillows around thambi I sneakily climbed down the bed least I wake the father or son snoring away to glory. After a quick shower, I come out quietly and thambi starts whimpering again. He has somehow felt that I was not around. The father tries to pat him to sleep, but the little one is more accustomed to the mother’s touch. So he lets out a bawl and announces to the world his preference. I was already running late. So I just go pat him, but now, he is fully awake. So I carry him out and try to pacify him. Once he is fine, I give him to the maid and move a step. The said wail is back and I hurriedly carry him again. Then, I slowly take my bag and wear my shoes and move towards the door. He is pretty excited. Now to act our piece… The maid opens the door and goes out. The little imp is excited and jumps to her. Then I go out and she carries him around a bit and quickly goes into the house before I enter the lift.  The little one searches for his mom, but since he is not able to see her, he forgets about it. He sees a toy and is fairly distracted by it. After a while, he is happy and tired and goes back to sleep peacefully.

I can crawl – Thambi

June 2, 2008

I have started crawling on all four from 30th May 2008. I did try my level best to show off this skill when I was in India, but I still had to master the art of moving my hands once I got to the kneeling position. Somehow my mind always instructed me to stand up, when I tried to move forward. It was a bit disconcerting as I had to balance by touching the ground with my hands. This made me look funny. I didn’t give up though. As a trade off, I learnt to sit and stand by myself.  To stand up, I had to climb over whoever was nearby or hold on to the chair, table… Once I even tried to stand up holding on to a strand of hair.

BTW, these are nothing when compared to the way my mom laughs when I crawl. She says I look like a small elephant (thou not in size). Its just that I’m a bit cautious. You don’t want accidents right? I amble along making sure that my right leg follows the left hand, which is then followed by the right hand and left leg. If I’m unsure, I immediately sit down. Hey, my mom is mighty proud of the fact that I try my best when I have to move forward really fast. I seldom resort to the army style tummy crawl which I used to do earlier.  I am pretty apt at it. Can move from a room to the other within seconds. As with any of my achievements, the mom has managed to record this too. Wonder when she would start editing these and passing it to the others. I hope she doesn’t wait for me to do it, you see, one cant blow one’s own trumpet!!!
